Spices

India is the world’s leading producer, consumer, and exporter of spices. It cultivates over 60 varieties because of its diverse climatic and soil conditions. The word spices come from the Latin word species, which means specific parts of the plant. Plant parts such as roots, rhizomes, stems, bark, leaves, flowers, and fruits of the plant are in use. They have aromatic, fragrant, pungency traits and other desirable properties. This organization is an excellent destination for qualitative and affordable spices.

India’s rich biodiversity sustains a mosaic of habitats with diverse flora, including 6,500 species of medicinal plants. These plants have been integral to traditional health care systems like Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, and Siddha. Around 1178 species are traded, with 242 used in annual quantities exceeding 100 MT. India’s domestic herbal industry comprises 8610 licensed herbal units, unregulated setups, and folk healers. The consolidated commercial demand for herbal raw materials in 2014–15 was estimated at 5,12,000 MT. These plants play a crucial role in drug discovery, with 25% of modern medicine derived from them. Millets like sorghum, pearl, and finger millet are rich in fiber, proteins, and essential minerals, addressing malnutrition and obesity concerns. The rising international demand underscores millets’ potential in fostering health and environmental stewardship.

Pure ghee

Indian indigenous cows, particularly those producing A2 beta-casein milk, are celebrated for their health benefits. Ayurveda extols cow products for treating indigestion, infections, hormonal imbalances, and neurological disorders. The global market is increasingly recognizing these values, with a rising demand for A2 milk due to its potential in mitigating diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Efforts like the International Federation of Zebu Cattle in India (IFZCI) aim to preserve and enhance the genetic quality of these cows, reflecting a growing international interest in their medicinal and health-promoting properties.
